I am floating in a sea of rose-stained water, the foam waves beating me down. Somehow I tread the sea, but I grow tired, I grow weak. These last moments of my life are never-ending, and each passing thought is of you. I offer you my legs to swim, my lungs to breathe, but you decline. I offer you my still beating heart, and you cradle it in your hands.
Be careful, I say, but you can't hear over the crashing waves. My fingers slip from yours as currents carry me to depths unknown, the rose water turning darker and darker shades of red. The sunlight fades as I am sent to my watery tomb, I exhale my last breath and watch the bubbles go up to you.
I fall gently onto the sea floor, my hair floating around me like wings. I can no longer feel you, I can no longer hear you. I wonder if you will think of me, mourn me. Do you even remember me? Did you even love me? I know you have my heart, and you know where I will always be, right here waiting for you in this ocean of rose-stained water.
