Lady Lover
First Draft: November 20, 2021
The last time I saw her, she was as still as the night.
Her eyes shone brightly in the dark light.
She used to cry when she thought I would not hear.
But now she cries, she weeps, with no fear.
As tears drip from her chin,
I think of how things could have been.
She had grown so thin, her bones stretched ‘cross her skin
Love sighs from my lips, searing her soul with a kiss.
There will be so much I miss. So, so much I shall miss.
